RTP company named the new CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced composite plastic) as "completely high performance composite". It is reported that this new engineering plastic is composed of Peek (polyether ether copper), high-performance PPA, PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) and Pei (polyetherimide) resins.
Matt Torosian, manager of RTP high performance materials business department, said that the advent of this new composite material is a milestone for the thermoplastic engineering plastics industry. "Thorough high-performance composites" organically combine high-temperature resistant polymers with fiber-reinforced materials to make the performance of a new generation of engineering plastics more perfect. " Matt Torosian said.
It is reported that the new composite plastic not only has the mechanical properties of high impact resistance required by engineering plastics, but also inherits the advantages of low density, corrosion resistance and easy molding of carbon fiber. In the composition, the content of carbon fiber is 20-40%.
RTP said that this composite material can withstand the test of polar environment such as high temperature and high pressure, and its application prospect in aviation, industry, medical treatment, automobile and other fields will be very promising. It is expected that this material will gradually replace aluminum, zinc, magnesium and other metals in the near future.
